This package installs the software (Realtek audio driver) to enable the following device. Realtek High Definition Audio Driver for Windows 8 (64-bit) - ThinkPad T430u. Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and extract the file. Sound & Audio: Realtek HD Audio Manager and Realtek Audio Driver Help. I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 64bit (on my HP Vista 32 machine). Life is grand! My problems started when I tried to listen to the microphone input through my speakers.

Hi Reynardo, This issue might occur if the version of audio driver which you are trying to install on the laptop is not the latest one or isn’t compatible with Windows 8.1. Are you trying to install the latest driver update for the sound card from Asus's website? To troubleshoot the issue, if you haven’t tried installing the latest version, refer to the link to download the latest audio driver from Asus website and then install it on the laptop: Asus hasn’t released the audio driver for Windows 8.1. So, you will need to download the latest available Windows 8 driver and install it Windows 8 compatibility mode. Click on Driver and tools, choose Windows 8 from the drop down menu and download the audio driver. Follow the steps mentioned below: • Press Windows+X keys and select Device Manager. • Expand Sound, Video and game controllers device icon.

• Right click on the driver icon and select Uninstall. Follow the onscreen instructions to do so. • Right Click on the setup file for the driver which you have downloaded.

Click on Properties. • Go to Compatibility tab and check the box which states “ Run this program in compatibility mode for”. • Select the version of Windows 8 from the drop down list. • Click on OK.
